First and foremost, it is a great honor to serve as the Commissioner of the Cliffside Park Fire Department and welcome to our site. Appointed by Mayor Gerald Calabrese, my roles and responsibilities as it relates to the department is to ensure transparency between the department and the governing body. Working closely with the Chiefs, Line Officers, and Members, we seek to ensure that the priorities of public safety and community outreach are met in a professional and honorable manner. With the support of the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Cliffside Park, the men and women who serve this great department, and the citizens of the town to which we have dedicated our service to, the Cliffside Park Volunteer Fire Department seeks to ensure that the life and safety of the residents of Cliffside Park are top priority.
The members of this department are dedicated to their work. Whether it is the day to day response or their philanthropy within the community; the members of this department display integrity day in and day out. As volunteers they exhibit not only bravery but selflessness, whether it be to protect life and property no matter the conditions, to teach our children about fire safety, to raise scholarship money for our high school students, to participate in recreation functions, to escort Santa through the Borough, or to honor our war heroes on Memorial Day. They are truly at the heart of our community and their every selfless deed breathes life into Cliffside Park.
